Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup tamari
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 minced scallions
  • 1 large garlic clove, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons sherry (optional)
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, cubed
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 1 large carrot, sliced
  • 1 large green pepper, chopped
  • 1/3 pound green beans or 1 can beans, drained

Instructions

  1. Combine tamari, water, minced scallions, sliced garlic, vinegar, honey, and sherry (if using) in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil, then lower to a simmer and cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. Add green beans or drained canned beans to the sauce and cook for a few more minutes.
  4. Serve the mixture over rice with cooked, cubed chicken and chopped vegetables.
