Ingredients

  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 (8 oz.) package spaghetti
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 (3 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 6 green onions, chopped fine
  • 1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Place butter in a cold skillet.
  2. Add garlic, mash with sugar, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cook until butter is melted, then add ground beef and brown.
  4. Add tomato sauce and simmer uncovered for 20 minutes.
  5. Cook spaghetti according to package directions.
  6. Combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, and chopped green onions.
  7. Place cooked spaghetti in a greased 13 x 9-inch casserole dish.
  8. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the spaghetti.
  9. Top with the cooked meat mixture.
  10. Sprinkle grated Cheddar cheese on top.
  11. Bake uncovered at 350°F (175°C) until hot and bubbly, about 30 minutes.
