Ingredients

  • 1 cup Bisquick
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 16 ounces pinto beans
  • 1 small can chilies
  • 1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup salsa

Instructions

  1. Combine Bisquick, cornmeal, 1/4 cup milk, oil, and egg in a bowl and set aside.
  2. Brown ground beef with chopped onion and taco seasoning in a skillet.
  3. Add tomato sauce to the meat mixture and stir to combine.
  4. Press the Bisquick mixture into a pie pan, pressing to the sides to form a crust.
  5. Layer the cooked meat mixture over the crust.
  6. Top with pinto beans, chopped chilies, and shredded Cheddar cheese.
  7. Spread thin salsa over the cheese layer.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 to 12 minutes until bubbly and golden.
