Tips & Substitutions

For a lighter version, consider using low-fat Cool Whip and sugar-free pudding mixes. You can also substitute the sponge cake with angel food cake for a fluffier texture. If you're short on time, pre-packaged fruit can be used instead of fresh. Make sure to let the chocolate-walnut sauce cool slightly before drizzling for a prettier presentation.

Serving Suggestions

This trifle is perfect for parties and can be served alongside a light salad like Pasta Supper Salad for a refreshing contrast. It pairs beautifully with Baked French Breakfast Doughnuts for a delightful brunch spread. Consider garnishing with additional fresh fruit or a sprinkle of chocolate shavings for an elegant touch.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftover trifle in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. If the layers start to lose their texture, try to consume it within the first day or two for the best flavor and appearance. Do not freeze, as the texture of the layers will change once thawed.
