Ingredients

  • 8 thin slices white bread
  • 1 cup milk
  • butter or margarine
  • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 small can tuna
  • 1/2 pint cherry tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Soften the butter or margarine and spread it on the slices of white bread.
  3. Place the bread slices in a greased baking dish to form a layer.
  4. In a saucepan, heat the milk and melt in the butter or margarine.
  5. Stir in the flour, dry mustard, and pepper to make a roux.
  6. Cook until the mixture thickens slightly, then add Worcestershire sauce.
  7. Mix in the shredded cheese until melted and smooth.
  8. Fold in the frozen mixed vegetables and drained tuna.
  9. Pour the tuna mixture over the bread slices in the baking dish.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
  11. Garnish with cherry tomatoes before serving.
