Ingredients

  • 0.5 to 1 lb ground beef or stew beef
  • 1 1/2 cups macaroni
  • 3 to 5 potatoes or 2 cans whole potatoes
  • 1 can corn
  • 1 can green beans
  • 1 can carrots
  • 1 can peas
  • 2 quarts water
  • juice from vegetable cans
  • 1 to 3 beef cubes
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons onion flakes or dried onion
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons seasoned salt
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef or stew beef in a skillet; drain excess fat.
  2. Pour the cooked meat into a large pot.
  3. Add water, juice from the vegetable cans, and all canned vegetables to the pot.
  4. Stir in beef cubes, Worcestershire sauce, onion flakes, ginger, seasoned salt, cinnamon, ground cloves, and black pepper.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  7. Mix cornstarch with a small amount of water to create a slurry, then stir into the soup to thicken.
  8. Serve hot.
