Ingredients
- 2 cups brown sugar ⓘ
- 2 cups white sugar ⓘ
- 2 teaspoons salt ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons baking powder ⓘ
- 3 cups flour ⓘ
- 1 pound Quaker natural cereal (yellow box) ⓘ
- 4 cups quick oats ⓘ
- 1 pound melted margarine ⓘ
- 4 eggs, beaten lightly ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon vanilla ⓘ
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional) ⓘ
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional) ⓘ
Instructions
- Combine dry ingredients: brown sugar, white sugar, salt, baking powder, and flour.
- Add melted margarine, beaten eggs, and vanilla to the dry ingredients mixture, one ingredient at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in lightly (optional) raisins and shredded coconut.
- Use about one heaping tablespoonful of dough for each cookie.
- Press each cookie flat before baking.
- Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 15 minutes on an ungreased baking sheet.
