Ingredients

  • 6 steaks (1/2-inch thick)
  • 3 Tbsp. oil
  • 2 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 6 potatoes, halved
  • 6 sliced carrots
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped onions
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. flour

Instructions

  1. Brown steaks on both sides in oil in a 12-inch Dutch oven for about 7 minutes per side.
  2. Dissolve chicken bouillon cubes in boiling water and pour over steaks.
  3. Top with halved potatoes, sliced carrots, chopped onions, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
  5. Combine flour with 1/2 cup cold water to make a slurry.
  6. Stir the flour mixture into the juices and simmer for 2 minutes until thickened.
