- 2 lb. steak, cut into bite-size pieces (filet mignon) ⓘ
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. salt ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. butter ⓘ
- 3/4 lb. fresh mushrooms in quarters ⓘ
- 3 medium onions, coarsely grated ⓘ
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped ⓘ
- 10 1/2 oz. can beef consomme ⓘ
- 1 Tbsp. catsup ⓘ
- 1 Tbsp. mustard ⓘ
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce ⓘ
- 1 Tbsp. mustard ⓘ
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce ⓘ
Instructions
- Roll steak cubes in flour and salt mixture.
- Brown meat in a heavy skillet in butter until browned on all sides.
- Add mushrooms, onions, and garlic to the skillet.
- Brown for 3 to 4 minutes, then set aside.
- In a saucepan, lightly brown flour in butter.
- Add beef consomme, mustard, catsup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; cook until thickened.
- Add sour cream and wine to the meat mixture.
- Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Serve over rice.
