Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 3/4 cups bread flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons yeast
  • 2 teaspoons soy flour (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons wheat germ (optional)

Instructions

  1. In the bread machine pan, place the milk, beaten egg, softened butter, sugar, salt, bread flour, yeast, soy flour (if using), and wheat germ (if using) in the order recommended by the manufacturer.
  2. Select the dough setting. Check the dough after 5 minutes of mixing and add 1 teaspoon of flour or water as needed.
  3. When the cycle is completed, turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and punch down.
  4. Divide the dough in half.
  5. Roll each portion into a 3/4-inch thickness.
  6. Cut with a 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter and place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  7. Cover the rolls and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
