Tips & Substitutions
For a lighter version, consider using turkey sausage instead of pork sausage. You can also substitute ricotta cheese for the creamed cottage cheese if desired. If you want to add some veggies, spinach or mushrooms can be excellent additions. Ensure to drain any excess moisture to prevent a soggy dish. This recipe is a great way to use leftover meats from other meals.
Serving Suggestions
Crescent lasagne pairs beautifully with a fresh side salad like Popeye Salad or steamed vegetables. You can also serve it with garlic bread or a light vinaigrette. For a more filling meal, consider pairing it with a side of roasted asparagus or a simple green bean almondine. This dish is perfect for potlucks or family gatherings.
Storage & Reheating
Allow the casserole to cool completely before storing leftovers in an airtight container. It can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through, about 15-20 minutes. Alternatively, you can microwave individual portions for a quick meal.
