Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 (12 oz) package egg noodles
  • 16 oz cottage cheese
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 16 oz sour cream
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 large onion
  • 1/2 lb sliced mushrooms
  • 2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce or puree
  • grated cheese
  • parsley

Instructions

  1. Cook egg noodles according to the package directions.
  2. Meanwhile, combine cottage cheese, cream cheese, and sour cream in a bowl.
  3. Brown ground beef in a skillet with chopped onion, green pepper, and sliced mushrooms.
  4. Add tomato sauce to the beef mixture and stir to combine.
  5. In a large, at least 5-inch deep casserole dish, layer noodles, cheese mixture, and beef mixture without mixing layers.
  6. Repeat layers as needed, finishing with the beef layer on top.
  7. Sprinkle grated cheese and chopped parsley over the top.
  8. Bake at 325°F for 30 minutes.
  9. Keep in the oven at 200°F until ready to serve.
