Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2/3 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup nonfat powdered milk
  • 1/2 cup wheat germ
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • 1/2 cup carob chips

Instructions

  1. Cream the margarine, peanut butter, brown sugar, honey, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Combine the flour, salt, baking soda, powdered milk, wheat germ, and oats; add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  3. Stir in the raisins, chopped nuts, coconut, and carob chips.
  4. Press the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a greased cookie sheet.
  5. Flatten the balls slightly and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 8 to 10 minutes until golden.
