Tips & Substitutions

For a lighter version, consider using ground turkey or chicken instead of beef. You can also substitute the American cheese with mozzarella for a different flavor profile. If you don't have frozen spinach, fresh spinach can be used—just sauté it until wilted. To add more flavor, consider incorporating Italian spices like oregano or basil, which are staples in many Italian recipes.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this casserole with a side salad or garlic bread to complement the flavors. A simple arugula salad dressed with lemon vinaigrette pairs beautifully with this dish. For a heartier meal, consider serving alongside roasted vegetables or a classic Italian dish like Overnight Lasagna.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place individual portions in the microwave for about 2-3 minutes or until heated through. Alternatively, you can reheat the casserole in the oven at 350°F for 15-20 minutes, covering it with foil to prevent drying out.
