Ingredients

  • 1 box lasagna noodles
  • 32 oz. spaghetti sauce
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • about 1 lb. ground meat
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 3/4 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 12 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 15 oz. Ricotta cheese
  • 1 tsp. parsley flakes
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. celery salt
  • 1 pkg. Good Seasons Italian dressing mix
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 c. water

Instructions

  1. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, cook ground meat until browned; drain excess fat.
  3. Mix spaghetti sauce, water, oregano, sugar, chopped onion, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Spread a thin layer of sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Layer cooked noodles over the sauce.
  6. Spread a layer of ricotta cheese over the noodles.
  7. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese and some shredded mozzarella over the ricotta.
  8. Add a layer of cooked ground meat.
  9. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a top layer of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  10. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-40 minutes until hot and bubbly.
  11. Remove foil and bake an additional 5-10 minutes until cheese is golden.
  12. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
