Ingredients

  • 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter flavored Crisco
  • 1 (16 oz) can pumpkin
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/3 cups quick old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Beat the brown sugar and Crisco until fluffy.
  2. Mix in the pumpkin, eggs, and water until well combined.
  3. Combine all remaining dry ingredients, mixing well.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing thoroughly.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased tube or Bundt pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 60 to 70 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes in the pan.
  8. Remove from the pan and completely cool on a wire rack.
  9. Drizzle the orange glaze over the cooled cake before serving.
