Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped green pepper
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • dash of hot pepper sauce
  • 1/2 cup crushed round crackers (12 crackers)
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. In a medium skillet, cook onion, celery, and green pepper in 4 tablespoons butter until tender but not brown.
  2. Stir in flour, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and hot pepper sauce.
  3. Add 1/4 cup cracker crumbs; mix well. Stir in undrained clams; cook until mixture thickens.
  4. Divide the clam mixture among 4 large baking shells.
  5. Combine the remaining cracker crumbs and 1 tablespoon butter; sprinkle on top of each filled shell.
  6. Bake in a 350°F oven for 15 minutes.
