Ingredients

  • 3/4 stick butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup pureed pumpkin
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 3/4 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons cocoa
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and brown sugar together in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add beaten eggs and pureed pumpkin; mix well.
  3. Combine flour with baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt.
  4. Add the flour mixture to the pumpkin mixture and mix until blended.
  5. Add milk and chopped walnuts; mix until the batter is smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into a buttered 9 1/2 x 5-inch loaf pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
