Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. spaghetti
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground steak
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 1 can ripe olives
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 5 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 lb. grated cream cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat butter in a large skillet or stew pan.
  2. Cook green pepper and onion until tender.
  3. Add ground steak and cook until browned, turning several times to coat with butter.
  4. In a separate stew pan, combine tomatoes, salt, sugar, soda, and chili powder.
  5. Cook the tomato mixture until reduced in bulk by about half, approximately 20 minutes.
  6. Add the cooked meat mixture to the tomato sauce and simmer together for an additional 20 minutes.
