Ingredients

  • 1 lb. round steak, trimmed
  • 1 tsp. beef bouillon granules
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1/4 c. soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 c. shredded cabbage
  • 1 c. diagonally sliced carrots, partially cooked
  • 1 medium onion, sliced into rings
  • 1/2 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/2 c. diagonally sliced celery
  • 1/3 c. sliced green onions
  • 15 fresh snow pea pods, trimmed
  • 1 (8 oz.) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
  • 4 oz. thin spaghetti, cooked

Instructions

  1. Slice the steak into 1/4-inch strips.
  2. In a bowl, combine beef bouillon granules, water, soy sauce, and cornstarch; set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the steak and minced garlic; stir-fry until the meat is no longer pink.
  5. Remove the cooked meat from the skillet and set aside.
  6. Add shredded cabbage, sliced carrots, onion rings, sliced mushrooms, sliced celery, and sliced green onions to the skillet.
  7. Cook for about 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
  8. Add the trimmed snow pea pods and drained sliced water chestnuts; cook for about 2 minutes.
  9. Return the cooked steak to the skillet.
  10. Pour the prepared bouillon mixture over the vegetables and beef.
  11. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce has thickened.
  12. Gently toss in the cooked spaghetti and heat for about 1 minute before serving.
