Stuffed Round Steak

Ingredients
- 5 Tbsp. butter
- 1/4 c. finely chopped onion ⓘ
- 1/4 c. finely chopped celery ⓘ
- 1 1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. salt ⓘ
- 1/4 tsp. pepper ⓘ
- 1/4 tsp. ground sage ⓘ
- 1/4 tsp. dried thyme leaves ⓘ
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder ⓘ
- 1 tsp. instant beef bouillon granules ⓘ
- 1/2 c. hot water ⓘ
- 1 1/2 to 2 lb. beef boneless round steak ⓘ
- 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can onion soup ⓘ
- 1/2 c. water ⓘ
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a small skillet, melt 3 tablespoons of butter.
- Add finely chopped onion and celery.
- Cook and stir over medium heat until tender.
- Transfer the cooked onion and celery to a medium mixing bowl.
- Add bread crumbs, salt, pepper, sage, thyme, and garlic powder to the bowl.
- Dissolve bouillon granules in hot water.
- Add the bouillon mixture to the crumb mixture and mix well.
- Pound the beef boneless round steak to 1/4-inch thickness.
- Spread the stuffing mixture over the steak.
- Roll up the steak and secure with toothpicks or kitchen twine.
- Place the rolled steak in a baking dish.
- Mix onion soup and water, then pour over the stuffed steak.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes or until the meat is tender and cooked through.
