Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green peppers
  • 15 oz. can refried beans
  • 1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon catsup
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 48 won ton skins
  • cooking oil or shortening (for deep frying)
  • taco sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef, chopped onion, and chopped green peppers until the meat is browned and vegetables are tender.
  2. Drain off excess fat.
  3. Stir in refried beans, shredded Cheddar cheese, catsup, chili powder, and ground cumin; mix well.
  4. Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each won ton skin.
  5. Moisten the edges of the won ton skin with water and fold to form a sealed pouch.
  6. Deep fry the won tons in hot oil until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Drain on paper towels and serve with taco sauce.
