Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup bulghur
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 pound tofu
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 celery sleeve
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese
  • 1/3 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup sesame seed
  • 1/3 cup TVP

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Cook bulghur in water until tender, then drain and set aside.
  3. Rinse and dry tofu, then crumble into a mixing bowl.
  4. Add beaten egg, cooked bulghur, flour, oats, sesame seed, TVP (if using), chopped onion, grated carrot, minced garlic, and chopped celery.
  5. Stir in basil, oregano, garlic powder, pepper, and Parmesan cheese (if using).
  6. Mix until well combined and form into burger patties.
  7. Place patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
