Beef And Potato Mix

Ingredients
- 3 lb. round steak ⓘ
- 1/3 cup oil ⓘ
- 2 cups water ⓘ
- 4 beef bouillon cubes ⓘ
- 1/2 cup vinegar ⓘ
- 6 oz. can tomato paste ⓘ
- 2 tbsp. brown sugar ⓘ
- 1/4 tsp. pepper ⓘ
- 1 tsp. ground allspice ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves ⓘ
- 1 stick cinnamon ⓘ
- 3 cloves garlic ⓘ
- 4 onions ⓘ
- 2 cups green pepper ⓘ
- 3/4 lb. fresh mushrooms ⓘ
- 1/2 cup flour ⓘ
- 3/4 cup water ⓘ
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese ⓘ
Instructions
- Brown the steak in hot oil in a large skillet or pot.
- Add water, beef bouillon cubes, vinegar, tomato paste, brown sugar, pepper, allspice, cloves, cinnamon stick, garlic, onions, green pepper, and mushrooms.
- Cover and simmer for 45 minutes.
- Add mushrooms and cook for an additional 35 minutes.
- Remove the cinnamon sticks.
- In a jar, combine flour and 3/4 cup water, then shake until smooth.
- Stir the flour mixture into the stew and cook until thickened.
- Pour the stew into a 4-quart casserole dish.
- Stir Parmesan cheese into hot mashed potatoes and spoon around the casserole.
- Sprinkle with paprika.
- Bake at 375°F for 50 minutes.
