Ingredients

  • 1 tsp beef bouillon
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 lb stew meat
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 2 lb onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 giant sized can beer
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp steak sauce
  • 1/2 tsp crumbled bay leaves
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 lb potatoes
  • 4 medium carrots
  • boiling water
  • parsley

Instructions

  1. Coat the cubed meat in flour mixed with salt, pepper, and beef bouillon; set aside.
  2. In a large pot, heat 1/4 cup of olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until tender, about 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the onion and garlic from the pot; add the remaining oil and brown the floured meat on all sides.
  4. Return the onion and garlic to the pot, add the beer, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, steak sauce, bay leaves, and thyme.
  5. Mix well and bring the mixture to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1 1/2 hours until the meat is tender.
  7. Add the potatoes and carrots during the last part of cooking if desired, and cook until vegetables are tender.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
