Chili Supreme

Ingredients
- 1 cup pinto beans ⓘ
- 5 cups tomatoes ⓘ
- 3 or 4 chopped green peppers ⓘ
- 4 cups chopped onions ⓘ
- 1 1/2 tablespoons salad oil ⓘ
- 2 cloves garlic ⓘ
- 1/2 cup chopped parsley
- 1/2 cup margarine ⓘ
- 2 1/2 pounds ground chuck ⓘ
- 1 pound ground lean pork ⓘ
- 1 small can chili powder ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons salt ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon sugar ⓘ
- 1 1/2 teaspoons pepper ⓘ
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin seed ⓘ
- 1 1/2 teaspoons monosodium glutamate ⓘ
Instructions
- Combine cooked pinto beans and tomatoes and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Saute chopped green peppers in salad oil for 5 minutes.
- Add chopped onions; cook until tender, stirring often.
- Add crushed garlic and chopped parsley; melt margarine and saute ground chuck and ground lean pork for 15 minutes.
- Add cooked meat to onion mixture; stir in chili powder and cook for 10 minutes.
- Add this mixture to the beans and tomatoes, then add spices.
- Cover and simmer for 45 minutes.
- Skim fat off the top.
- Flavor will improve if set in refrigerator overnight.
- May be frozen indefinitely.
