  • 1/4 lb. butter

  3. Add sage, spiced salt, garlic salt, black pepper, and hickory smoke salt to the mixture.

Tips & Substitutions

For added depth of flavor, consider using homemade chicken stock instead of water when mixing in the melted butter. You can substitute the oysters with shrimp or crab if desired. If you prefer a vegetarian option, omit the giblets and livers and use vegetable broth. Keep in mind that the texture will vary based on your substitutions.

Serving Suggestions

This stuffing pairs beautifully with roasted turkey or chicken and is a great side dish for holiday meals. Serve alongside cranberry sauce and green bean casserole for a classic American meal. It can also be a delicious base for a Chicken Gumbo Meat Loaf, providing a unique twist to your dinner table.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place in an oven-safe dish, cover with foil, and warm at 350°F (175°C) until heated through. For best results, sprinkle a little broth over the stuffing to maintain moisture.
