Spaghetti Pie(Casserole)

Ingredients
- 8 oz. spaghetti ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine ⓘ
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper ⓘ
- 1 egg
- 1 pound cottage cheese ⓘ
- 1 pound cooked ground beef ⓘ
- 1 medium onion ⓘ
- 1/4 green pepper ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon sugar ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt ⓘ
- 1 jar spaghetti sauce ⓘ
- 4 oz. Mozzarella cheese ⓘ
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions, then drain and mix with butter, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and beaten egg.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef; then drain and rinse.
- Cook the ground beef with chopped onion, green pepper, sugar, oregano, and garlic salt until the onion is soft.
- Layer in a casserole dish: first the spaghetti mixture, then cottage cheese, followed by the ground beef mixture, and finally the spaghetti sauce.
- During the last 10 minutes of baking, sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes until hot and bubbly.
