Ingredients

  • 1 large round steak, cubed
  • 1/4 cup steak sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup celery, diced
  • 1 cup cabbage, shredded
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1 medium tomato, cubed
  • 1 can sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup beef bouillon

Instructions

  1. Marinate the steak in the refrigerator with steak sauce, soy sauce, vegetable oil, brown sugar, ground ginger, thyme, salt, and pepper for up to 3 hours.
  2. Drain the marinade from the steak.
  3. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter, add the cubed steak, and fry until browned, stirring often.
  4. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.
  5. In the same pan, add 3 tablespoons of butter, then add the diced celery, shredded cabbage, and diced onion.
  6. Stir and cook until the vegetables are crisp-tender.
  7. Add the cubed tomatoes and sliced mushrooms to the pan.
  8. Heat through, then add the cooked steak and beef bouillon.
  9. Simmer everything together for 15 minutes.
  10. Serve hot with rice or mashed potatoes.
