Steak "A" Round
A savory stir-fry featuring tender cubed steak, crisp vegetables, and rich flavors from soy, steak sauce, and spices, perfect for a hearty, family-friendly meal.
Ingredients
- 1 large round steak, cubed ⓘ
- 1/4 cup steak sauce ⓘ
- 1/4 cup soy sauce ⓘ
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil ⓘ
- 1/4 cup brown sugar ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon pepper ⓘ
- 1/2 cup celery, diced ⓘ
- 1 cup cabbage, shredded ⓘ
- 1/2 cup onion, diced ⓘ
- 1 medium tomato, cubed ⓘ
- 1 can sliced mushrooms ⓘ
- 1/2 cup beef bouillon ⓘ
Instructions
- Marinate the steak in the refrigerator with steak sauce, soy sauce, vegetable oil, brown sugar, ground ginger, thyme, salt, and pepper for up to 3 hours.
- Drain the marinade from the steak.
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter, add the cubed steak, and fry until browned, stirring often.
- Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add 3 tablespoons of butter, then add the diced celery, shredded cabbage, and diced onion.
- Stir and cook until the vegetables are crisp-tender.
- Add the cubed tomatoes and sliced mushrooms to the pan.
- Heat through, then add the cooked steak and beef bouillon.
- Simmer everything together for 15 minutes.
- Serve hot with rice or mashed potatoes.
