Barbecued Stuffed Shrimp

Ingredients
- 3 dozen large shrimp ⓘ
- 1 cup cooked crab meat ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons chopped onions ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons chopped celery ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons chopped green pepper ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons flour ⓘ
- 1/2 cup milk ⓘ
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs ⓘ
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon chopped parsley ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper ⓘ
Instructions
- Melt butter in a skillet; sauté chopped onions, celery, and green pepper over medium heat.
- Stir in flour and milk, stirring constantly until thickened.
- Add bread crumbs, crab meat, Worcestershire sauce, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Remove shells and veins from shrimp, leaving tails on.
- Slit the backs of the shrimp.
- Put two shrimp together with the crab stuffing.
- Hold the shrimp together with toothpicks.
- Chill in the refrigerator until ready to cook.
- Place shrimp in a broiler pan, 5 inches from the broiler unit.
- Broil, basting occasionally with sauce, until shrimp are done, about 5 minutes on each side.
