A hearty and comforting dish featuring tender pork chops stuffed with flavorful bread mixture, baked alongside sweet apples and sweet potatoes for a satisfying family meal.

Ingredients

  • 5 slices day-old bread, cubed
  • 1 egg yolk, beaten
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/8 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1 tsp grated onion
  • 4 pork chops
  • 4 medium baking apples
  • 1/4 cup seedless raisins
  • 4 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 medium sweet potatoes

Instructions

  1. Combine the bread cubes, beaten egg yolk, butter, salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, and grated onion. Shape into four balls.
  2. Place the pork chops in a shallow baking pan and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. Place one stuffing ball on each pork chop.
  4. Core the apples and set them in the pan with the chops.
  5. Mix sugar, raisins, and cinnamon and fill the center of each apple with this mixture.
  6. Roll the sweet potatoes in melted butter, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and place them in the pan with the chops.
  7. Bake for 1 1/2 hours at 350°F until cooked through and golden.
