Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb lasagne noodles
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 lb pork sausage
  • 0.5 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 29 oz can tomato puree
  • 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1.5 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 2 teaspoon chopped parsley
  • 2 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.25 cup flour
  • 1 cup hot milk
  • 1 cup hot chicken stock
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 0.5 lb Ricotta cheese
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 0.125 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cook lasagne noodles according to package directions; drain and place in cold water until ready to use.
  2. Saute ground beef, pork sausage, and chopped onion in a skillet; drain off excess fat.
  3. Add olive oil, tomato puree, tomato paste, seasoning salt, black pepper, chopped parsley, basil, and oregano to the meat mixture.
  4. Cover and simmer the sauce for 30 minutes.
  5. Prepare cheese sauce by melting butter, stirring in flour, then gradually adding hot milk and hot chicken stock, stirring constantly until thickened.
  6. Mix in beaten egg, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, nutmeg, and salt into the cheese sauce.
  7. Layer cooked noodles, meat sauce, and cheese mixture in a baking dish, repeating layers as desired.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 30-40 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
