- 1.5 lb lasagne noodles ⓘ
- 1 lb lean ground beef ⓘ
- 1 lb pork sausage ⓘ
- 0.5 cup chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon olive oil ⓘ
- 29 oz can tomato puree ⓘ
- 6 oz can tomato paste ⓘ
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper ⓘ
- 1.5 teaspoon seasoning salt ⓘ
- 2 teaspoon chopped parsley ⓘ
- 2 teaspoon basil ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon oregano ⓘ
- 0.5 cup butter ⓘ
- 0.25 cup flour ⓘ
- 1 cup hot milk ⓘ
- 1 cup hot chicken stock ⓘ
- 0.125 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 1 beaten egg ⓘ
- 0.5 lb Ricotta cheese ⓘ
- 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese
- 0.125 teaspoon nutmeg ⓘ
- 0.5 teaspoon salt ⓘ
Instructions
- Cook lasagne noodles according to package directions; drain and place in cold water until ready to use.
- Saute ground beef, pork sausage, and chopped onion in a skillet; drain off excess fat.
- Add olive oil, tomato puree, tomato paste, seasoning salt, black pepper, chopped parsley, basil, and oregano to the meat mixture.
- Cover and simmer the sauce for 30 minutes.
- Prepare cheese sauce by melting butter, stirring in flour, then gradually adding hot milk and hot chicken stock, stirring constantly until thickened.
- Mix in beaten egg, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, nutmeg, and salt into the cheese sauce.
- Layer cooked noodles, meat sauce, and cheese mixture in a baking dish, repeating layers as desired.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 30-40 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
