Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce with mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (10 oz.) package frozen peas, parboiled
  • 1 package refrigerated biscuits
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Cheddar)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef, chopped onion, and chopped celery in a skillet.
  2. Drain the fat; stir in flour, tomato sauce with mushrooms, salt, oregano, pepper, and parboiled peas.
  3. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Pour the mixture into a shallow baking dish.
  5. Top with refrigerated biscuits and shredded cheese.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
